Doctors
Krista Magnifico, DVM
Krista Magnifico, DVM, is the owner of Jarrettsville Veterinary Center. She has been involved in veterinary medicine for 25 years and has worked in animal shelters as a volunteer. Dr. Magnifico earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and her Biology and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degrees from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Her passion lies in animal welfare and working to end economic euthanasia by providing patient care options at a level clients can afford. Dr. Magnifico knows that vet medicine isn’t one size fits all and wants to empower people seeking treatment for their pet, which is why she founded Pawbly.com. Dara Ahrens, DVM
Dara Ahrens, DVM, joined our practice in 2018 after graduating from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech where she helped raise a service dog as part of her program. Dr. Ahrens loves working with cats and has several of her own. When not at the clinic, you’ll find her riding her horses (for fun and competitively), hiking, and going to see live music.

Karen Graf, DVM
Karen Graf, DVM has been a veterinarian at Jarrettsville Veterinary Center since 1996. She earned her Biology and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degrees from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. She is exceptionally dedicated to the clients at Jarrettsville Veterinary Center and has many of the same patients since they were puppies or kittens. A local native, Dr. Graf grew up working on a horse farm and riding horses. She lives with her husband, son, and their dog. Dr. Graf enjoys spending time with her family.

Tracy Morgan, DVM
Tracy Morgan, DVM, has been a veterinarian at Jarrettsville Veterinary Center since June 2008. Dr. Morgan earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She practices medicine and surgery at Jarrettsville Veterinary Center and has a special interest in dog behavior and is trained in ultrasonography. Dr. Morgan believes in exceptional client care and strives to improve the quality of all aspects of veterinary services. In her spare time, Dr. Morgan enjoys all types of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, and running, but is often inside baking different cheesecakes for each staff member on their birthday.
Managers
Jennifer (Practice Administrator)
Jennifer started at JVC in 2016. She truly loves helping pets and the people who care deeply about them. In addition to connecting with clients and Jenn quickly takes care of any problems that arise around the clinic. If there is a way to help, Jenn will find it. She likes to keep busy so when she’s not at the clinic, Jenn’s taking care of her family and farmette of rescued animals, taking courses to earn her CVPM, volunteering with her therapy dog Bella, working with a local dog rescue, and spending time at the beach.
Amanda
Amanda has lived and breathed animals her entire life. At 14, she started working in kennels. She joined JVC in 2009, working in different capacities and is now one of our practice managers, though you’ll still regularly find her in the clinic, assisting the doctors. Her heart lies in rescue and she spends weekends volunteering at Cecil County Animal Services. Finding beauty in the “broken,” Amanda has several special needs pets like Jenny, a paralyzed pitbull, and Ellie who has cerebellar hypoplasia. When she’s not at the clinic, Amanda is spending time with her family, tending to her farm animals, and brainstorming ways to help more pets.

Dan
i
Dani has been working with us at JVC since 2022. She knew she wanted to work with animals as far back as elementary school. Dentistry is her passion, knowing that a clean, fresh mouth is key for a pet’s overall health and often relieves their pain. When not polishing teeth, Dani has been restoring an old farm into a functioning horse boarding facility. She also enjoys spending time with her family, jousting, riding motorcycles, and taking trips to see the world.
Emily
Emily joined JVC in 2025. She always loved being around animals and in striving to give them the best life possible, decided to attend Wilson College to become an RVT and was accepted into Virgina-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine to start her journey into becoming a vet! She is passionate about every animal getting the care it deserves and would love to own her own clinic in the future to advocate for low cost treatments while living on a ranch to adopt all the “misfit” animals. She lives with her adopted dog Carlisle and 3 cats and in her spare time enjoys hiking and growing plants from seeds. She’s currently growing lemon and apple trees!
Veterinary Assistants
Sami
Sami is one of our vet assistants here at JVC and has been with us for 10 years. Her favorite animal is a snow leopard and her favorite food is BBQ ribs. In her free time, Sami enjoys crafting, reading, spending time with her family, and walking her dogs. Her favorite dog breed is any kind of hound. Sami went to Harford Tech for High School.
Laura
Laura is one of our veterinary assistants and has been with us since 2016. She graduated from Penn State with her B.S. in Animal Science, making her one of our most knowledgeable assets. She’s great at explaining medical terms to clients and coworkers in a way that makes sense. Laura loves assisting with surgeries and dentals, knowing that the pet is going to feel so much better. She finds dentals are extremely satisfying, taking the teeth from brown to pearly white. In her free time, Laura enjoys being with family, chasing after her young kids, taking care of her rescue pets and farm animals, and camping.
Allie
Allie joined JVC in 2020 as a kennel tech and quickly proved to be an asset as a veterinary and surgical assistant. She enjoys working with dogs and building bonds with all her patients so her coworkers often call on her to handle difficult dogs. She looks forward to continually advancing her skills in the veterinary field. When Allie isn’t wearing scrubs, she’s out in her barn with her horses and has recently began competing again.
Autumn
Autumn joined the JVC team in 2020 after earning her Associates degree from York County Tech School & YTI Career institute in specialized technology. Her favorite part of her job is being able to help all of the “broken” animals that cross her path. You may recognize her as Hamilton’s mom and now she is expanding her furry family with a human child. When she’s not planning lunch celebrations for staff members, she enjoys racing and hanging out with friends in her spare time.
Candice
Candice started at JVC in 2024. As a child, she was always known for rescuing bugs and has a great fondness for bees. She’s a lifelong learner and enjoys the fast pace of a busy practice like JVC where she gets to learn new things everyday. She looks forward to sharpening her skills by working with different doctors and continuing to build confidence and trust with all our patients. In her free time, Candice enjoys creating art, reading, and spending time ourdoors in the woods.

Daina
Daina joined JVC early this year while shadowing Dr. Ahrens to complete her bachelor’s degree, but her love of veterinary medicine started with raising sheep and goats for 4H in middle school. She’s passionate about high-quality care for all of our clients and is applying for veterinary school in 2026. When not caring for animals, Daina enjoys walks with her dog, Westin, reading, and working out at the gym.

Dana
Dana has worked part-time as a veterinary assistant at Jarrettsville Vet Center since 2016. In her spare time, Dana volunteers at the Humane Society of Harford County, Pets for Vets and is a board member on the Maryland Animal Cruelty & Animal Fighting Task Force. Dana has completed training through the ASPCA in Field Investigations & Response and has taken numerous law enforcement training courses on animal abuse investigations.
Colleen
Colleen has worked at Jarrettsville Vet since Sept. 2007. She currently works part-time and is a full-time mom to two boys and a beautiful little girl. In her spare time she likes spending time with her family and being outside.
Lydia
Lydia is one of our veterinary assistants here at JVC and has been with us for around 6 years. Her favorite food is any fruit and her favorite animal is a pig. She enjoys working with dogs and in her free time she can be found reading, traveling and training service dogs. She attended Kennard Dale High School and graduated with her BS and MS from the University of Delaware.
Ashlin
Ashlin joined JVC in 2024 because she’s always wanted to work in the veterinary field and loves being able to focus on providing the best patient care that JVC is known for. Ashlin is always ready to lend a hand during appointments and loves being able to work with so many diverse patients- breeds and personalities. She’s getting ready to graduate with a certification in veterinary technology and is looking forward to taking her VTNE to become an RVT to move forward in her JVC career.
Miranda
Miranda’s house was always full of animals and as she got older, she joined a small animal program in high school to learn more about vet medicine. She joined JVC in 2024 and loves being able to get hands-on experience with all different animals and parts of the clinic. She’s got a strong passion for loving client pets like her own while she works towards graduation. Miranda plans to become an RVT and would like to eventually become a vet herself. She currently has 2 dogs, 4 cats, 2, guinea pigs, and 2 rabbits. If that’s not enough, Miranda jumps rope competitively and travels across the country for events.
Customer Service Representatives
Beth
“Thank you for calling Jarrettsville Vet…” If you call the clinic, there’s a good chance you’ll be speaking with Beth, who has worked at JVC since 2020. As a girl, Beth helped to rehab a woodpecker which began her interest in vet medicine. Beth is quick to share her knowledge and answer any questions from coworkers and clients. You’ll often find her training new hires and finding solutions for clients in need. She’s even thinking of becoming certified in veterinary reception. In her spare time Beth enjoys gardening and cooking with fresh ingredients that she grows. She also loves to spend time with her family and her rescue pups.

Kate
Kate has been a staple at JVC since 2001! She fell in love with cats as a child and was known as a cat whisperer. Kate is a certified reiki master, offering animal reiki at the practice to promote their healing and well-being. She loves to see people incorporating holistic healing into animal wellness. When not called to reiki, Kate is answering your calls and solving problems for our clients. Outside of the clinic, she and her husband stay busy on their farm caring for their alpacas, llamas, chickens, dogs, and cats and adding sections to their native habitat.
Cindy
Cindy is one of our receptionists here at JVC and has been with us for around 20 years. Cindy has no favorite animals or preference between dogs and cats. Her favorite food is anything gluten free. Cindy’s hobbies include animal energy healing, studying the weather, exploring nature, working with horses and training dogs. She attended Emerson High School in New Jersey.
Sherry
Sherry has been with JVC for 3 years as a client services representative. She attended at Perry Hall High School. Sherry likes riding her horses and biking. Her favorite dog breed is the dachshund. Sherry used to live in Hawaii with her horses. She enjoys Mexican and Italian food.
Stacy
Stacy has been one of our client service representatives since 2021. She once owned a grooming boutique and now she grooms small dogs and cats for some of our clients. Stacy works hard to find homes for any adoptable pets we have at the clinic and spread the importance of spaying and neutering. In her spare time, Stacy bakes amazing treats for her coworkers, crafts, and tries to resist adopting more cats.
Michelle
In 2021, Michelle commented on a picture on Facebook, and next thing you know, she was volunteering at JVC! Michelle started by helping pets recover after surgery. Not long after, she was made an offer she couldn’t refuse. Michelle is a true team player and loves the family vibe of the clinic. She even adopted her dog, Lefty, from his foster mom who happened to be our practice manager, Jenn. Outside of work, Michelle unwinds with shopping and tailgating for Maryland Terps home games with her whole family. Go Terps!
Shelly
Shelly is a part-time client service representative. She has a college-aged son and daughter. She works full time as a Program Director of a Preschool. Her hobbies include hiking, cooking, gardening and spending time with her dog, cats, and horses.
Angie
Angie joined our customer service representative team in 2023. She had animals all her life and loves every single one. She enjoys taking care of our JVC clients and seeing them when they bring in their pets, ready with a smile. When not behind the desk, Angie is spending time with her family which includes 4 grandchildren, preferably by a beach or pool.

Angela S.
Angela joined Jarrettsville Veterinary Center in 2012 as a weekend receptionist. During the week Angela is a medical assistant at Hunt Valley Laser & Skin Care Center. She has a passion for the older, unwanted animals in the shelters and abides by the phrase “Adopt, Don’t Shop”. The animals that Angela adopts are given a second life and you can tell they love and adore her with all their heart. Angela is a wife and mother of three, and In her spare time she enjoys reading and hanging out with her family.
Taylor
Taylor is one of our friendly faces you see in reception. She joined JVC in 2023. As an animal lover, she wanted to surround herself with them in her personal life and work too. Her favorite part of working in client service is helping people while getting to see all the pets that visit, knowing that coming to JVC means they are well cared for. In her spare time, Taylor enjoys being on her farm and out on the water, creating a life filled with joy.
Kennel Technicians
Emma (Kennel Manager)
Emma has been with JVC in different roles since 2022 and now she’s our kennel manager. As a young girl, she would spend sunrise to sunset with the animals in the fields of her grandmother’s farm. She was best friends with Vinny the livestock guard dog and knew her strong connection with the animals would lead her into animal care full time. Her favorite part of the job is providing comfort and playtime to the client pets that board with us and are missing their families. She knows that pets thrive on routine and gives her all to making their stay as close to home as possible.

Bit
Bit grew up caring for small animals and they were always around her. She joined JVC as a kennel tech in 2024 and loves being able to care for clients’ pets as an extension of her own. Bit is a natural teacher and trains a lot of our new hires on how to care for the pets who board with us. It only makes sense that she is currently working towards a degree to be able to teach high school art. Bit currently has 7 cats and 2 dogs and spends her free time cooking, baking, and drawing.

Arianna
Arianna joined JVC in 2023 to fulfill her childhood dreams of working with animals. She loves being able to spend time with all the client pets while they stay with us and treat them like her own. She can’t imagine a career not working with animals so after graduation she plans to continue on to become a registered vet tech. When not at JVC, Arianna loves to spend her time with her horse.

Karlena
Karlena started with JVC this year, in 2025, although she’s always had a passion for animals. She is determined to give client pets the same amount of love and care they get at home when they stay with us. And that means she gets to experience all their personalities and little quirks while spending time with them. Her goal is to become a veterinarian and be able to help as many animals as possible, while trying not to rescue them all. She currently has 2 labradors and a cat.
